Levels
Cleaner and Greener Levels
The Cleaner and Greener® levels are designed to help buildings, events and organizations achieve their desired environmental achievements through emissions offsetting. The levels represent the percentage of emissions that are offset, based on the emissions footprint calculation for the entity.
Participation
The participation level is for groups that are simply looking to calculate and report the greenhouse gas and health-related emissions associated with their building, event, or organization. For single buildings, this also includes the reductions in emissions due to energy efficiency.
Certification
The Cleaner and Greener® certification levels are designed for those looking to take the next step beyond reporting emissions, to reduce their environmental impact by offsetting emissions. The first three levels of certification, bronze, silver, and gold, target greenhouse gas emissions (CO2, CH4, and N2O), while the highest level, platinum, addresses both GHG emissions and health-related emissions, which include SO2, NOX, particulate matter, and mercury.
Cleaner and Greener® Levels | |
Level | Actions |
Participation* | Report emissions / reductions |
Bronze Certification | 25% of GHG emissions offset |
Silver Certification | 50% of GHG emissions offset |
Gold Certification | 100% of GHG emissions offset |
Platinum Certification | 100% of GHG and health-related emissions offset |
