Emission Reduction Donors

  • FuelCell Energy, a Connecticut-based company that operates Ultra-Clean fuel cells at more than 65 installations in five countries, has donated 2,624 Mwh of renewable energy credits to completely offset the CO2, SO2, and NOx emissions caused by WEEC 2008.

Companies and Organizations
Companies and Organizations are invited to make monetary donations or in-kind donations of emission reductions to help offset the emissions of this event. Examples of emission reductions that can be donated include: renewable energy certificates (RECs), emission reductions from industrial process improvements and energy efficiency improvements, emission sequestration in forests and land use actions, and emissions allowances and reduction credits from emission regulatory programs.

Attendees
Attendees are invited to make monetary donations to help offset the emissions caused by their participation in this event. A $15 donation purchases enough emission reductions to offset the average emissions caused by one attendee's travel, lodging, meals, and event activities. The monetary donations received are used by Leonardo Academy to purchase and retire renewable energy certificates (RECs) to help offset the emissions of this event. All renewable energy certificates purchased are Green-E certified renewable energy certificates from wind energy.
